Making a duvet can be a rewarding and creative project. Here's a general guide on how to make a basic duvet cover: Steps: Measure and Cut Fabric: Measure your duvet insert to determine the size of the cover. Standard duvet sizes are twin, full, queen, and king. Add seam allowances to the measurements. For example, if your duvet is 90 x 90 inches, you might add 1 inch to each side for seams, making your fabric pieces 92 x 92 inches. Cut two identical pieces of fabric for the front and back of the duvet. Hemming: On one of the fabric pieces, hem one of the shorter edges. Fold the fabric over twice and sew along the fold to create a neat hem. This will be the top opening of your duvet cover. Overlap or Closure Method: Decide how you want your duvet cover to close.
